Betting on the Portuguese Liga Placard

The Portuguese Liga Placard is the premier professional futsal league in Portugal. The league is contested by 14 teams with each team playing each other once at home and once away. At the end of the season, playoffs are held for the top 8 teams. The playoff continues into knockout phases till the finals.

The bottom two teams in the Liga Placard are relegated to the Second Division and are replaced by the two finalists in the Second Division playoff.

With the 26 regular season games and all the playoffs matches, the Liga Placard is ideal for sports betting. There are numerous bets that can be made to read on to learn about the most popular of tem and how you can get started.

Match Result

This is a very easy bet to understand. You are simply betting on which team will be the winner when the match is over. For example, if Sporting and Benfica are playing, you could bet on Benfica to win. If Benfica win the game, then you win your bet.

Handicaps

Some people avoid handicap bets as they look complicated. However, the concept is very simple. The bets are used to lengthen the odds on the favorite. This is done by giving them a goal deficit that they need to overcome.

For example, if Torreense and Futsal Azemeis are playing and Azemeis are the favorites to win, you could bet on Azemeis with a -1.5 goal handicap. The bet would then win if Azemeis win the game by at least 2 goals, as this way they would have overcome the handicap. You can also do the reverse and bet on Torreense to win with a +1.5 goal handicap and this bet will win if Torreense win or lose by no more than 1 goal. However, it will shorten the odds.

Total Goals

The total goal bet is on whether the total number of goals scored will be below or above a certain number. For example, you could bet on whether the total goals will be over or under 2.5. If you think there will be 3 goals in the match you bet over and if you think there will be 2 or less, then you bet under.

Betting on Halves

In the Liga Placard, you can bet not only on the match result but also on the results for each half. Bets can be placed on the results of each 20-minute half. You can bet whether a team will win the first half, the second half, or even both.

For example, in a game between Sporting CP and Azemeis you can bet that the first half will be won by Azemeis and the second half won by Sporting. You can bet on any possible combination, including that the teams will be tied at the end of the first half.

Correct Score

This bet requires you to predict the exact score at the end of the match. As it is hard to do, it will offer fairly long odds. For example, you may bet that Candoso will beat Fundao 3-2.

Game and Player Props

Player and game props bets are made on the possibility of certain events occurring in a match. A bet can be placed on the number of corners to be taken by a team, yellow card bookings or red card bookings.

It is also possible to bet on the possibility of a certain player scoring or how many goals they will score. For example, it is possible to have a bet that says Chishkala will score a brace during a Benfica versus Electrica match

Outrights

These are markets that relate to the season as a whole rather than to individual games. For example, you could bet that Sporting CP will win the upcoming season. You may also be able to place bets on which player will be the league’s top scorer, which teams will be relegated, and so on. You can place these bets before the season begins or at any point during the season.

Live Bets

Live bets are wagers that can be made while the match is in-play. You will be able to make use of most of the betting markets explained above and the odds will be adjusted in real time to reflect what is happening in the game. You can also bet on the next thing to happen, such as the next player to score.
