Founded in 1937, Atletico Goianiense football club is the oldest club in the city of Goiania. The club is proud to boast that it was the first club in the state to win the Serie C league title. He took the manager role at the club in 2021 but resigned, only to return to the club in May of this year. The drama continues with Jorginho being sacked by Atletico on 27th August.

The season as we can see, has been challenging for the club and they are currently near the bottom of the league having lost several games. For example, on October 1st, they played Avai away and lost 2-1. Previous to that they lost 2-1 in another away game against Corinthians.

Although it’s been a disappointing season, a few players have contributed well. Attacker Diego Churin has scored 5 goals for Atletico this 2022 season and has appeared in 28 games for the club. Jefferson Junio is also a vital part of the team and has played 25 games as a defender. He has scored one goal and has 1 accredited assist for Atletico.
