Premier League Predictions 2022-23

The English Premier League has fans from all over the world. Legendary teams such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and more, have all had periods during which they have dominated the league with players that have attracted global fans.

One of the reasons why the English Premier League is so exciting is that it has many competitive teams. Furthermore, the football is fast and physical, which is a style that many fans enjoy watching.

At the start of each season, fans will all be asking, which team will win the league this year?

It is not easy to predict which team will win, but there are certain teams competing for the top spot, those who are expected to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League, those who may fall into the top six and at least qualify for the Europa League, and then at the other side of the table, there are teams that may be relegated to the EFL Championship.

Premier League Winners

In recent years, the Premier League title has been contested between two teams, Manchester City and Liverpool. The two sides have some of the top players in the world, and are managed by two great managers in Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool

Liverpool became every Premier League fan’s favourite underdog when Mohammad Salah joined the team in 2018. Under manager Jurgen Klopp, the team that was finishing in the top six or lower suddenly started playing brave attacking football. Liverpool loved to score goals and the players in the current squad still have the same level of passion for the game, with huge levels of energy that they use to press other teams right until full time. With no obvious reason why things should change, they will definitely be title contenders, if not future champions again, in the coming years.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has been the manager of Manchester City since 2016. In fact, surprisingly, he has managed Manchester City for longer than he managed Barcelona. Guardiola is a highly tactical manager and puts together players based on how good their technical level on the ball is. His tactics usually involve bold runs and passes into spaces that cut the opponent’s defence. Manchester City also has a huge squad depth, meaning Guardiola can pick different squads to play on different nights, depending on what strategy he wants to use. Manchester City is one of the powerhouses in the Premier League and they have a big enough squad to be able to survive injuries to key players without dropping any points during the season.

Top Four Predictions

Chelsea

Every year, punters argue on whether Chelsea can clinch the title ahead of the other two teams who have won it since 2018. Chelsea make shrewd transfers and have a hugely talented young squad. They occasionally struggle with consistency, which is why they do not make the top two cut, but they are not far behind the leaders. Chelsea are very likely to make the top four, if they do not place in the top two or go and win the Premier League

Manchester United

Manchester United fans have watched their team fall from being back to back Premier League winners, to becoming a team with top four hopes. After many managerial changes, and the buying of top quality players, Manchester United still haven't found a solution to their lack of form. The team has put in some great performances, and fans should not forget that they placed second in the 2020/21 and 2017/18 seasons. Currently they are a team that would compete for a place in the top four.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham are a strong side that have created a fanbase purely out of being a team that does not spend a lot in the transfer window, but produces some great talents. Harry Kane is arguably the top player at Tottenham and he is also the captain of the English national team. Tottenham struggle with form in the Premier League but with their manager Antonio Conte, who is a Premier League winner, they are definitely going to compete for a place in the top four.

Leicester City

Leicester is even more of a fairytale story than Tottenham. This team came out of nowhere to win the Premier League in 2015/16. Right after their brilliant season, the key players in Leicester were bought by rival teams, but that has not stopped Leicester from continuing to put in strong performances. They are a strong side and some fans will feel they are a safe bet for a place in the top four.

Arsenal

Arsenal has been a top four team for many years, their days of Premier League glory are long behind them, but they have made steps in recent years to build the team back up. There are many good players in the Arsenal team, and whilst they sometimes struggle to find form, they can also go on winning streaks and beat the top teams as well.

West Ham

West Ham is the latest addition to the top four teams. Under manager David Moyes, they have found great form and can place highly in the table, maybe even in the top four. West Ham, like Chelsea and Arsenal, is a London based team that has a big fan base, and a relatively big budget that they can use to buy the players they need. They may not be anyone’s first choice for a place in the top four, but their success in recent years cannot be ignored.
