What is Lucky Lucky Blackjack?

Lucky Lucky Blackjack is a multi-hand blackjack variant from Playtech that allows players to command up to five positions around the table. It is played with six decks of 52 cards that are shuffled after every round. The Playtech blackjack title has a base game RTP of 99.58% whilst the Lucky Lucky side bet has an RTP of 96.05%. In this Lucky Lucky Blackjack guide, we cover all you need to know about the rules of the game and how to win from the Lucky Lucky side bet.

How to play Lucky Lucky Blackjack

To play Lucky Lucky Blackjack, players can bet on between one and five hands per round. The aim of the game is to create a hand that is as close to 21 as possible without going bust. If either the player or dealer’s hand exceeds 21, it automatically loses. This is known as ‘going bust’. If the player’s hand is stronger than the dealer’s hand, the player wins. Any round that ends as a tie sees the player’s stake returned as a push.

Lucky Lucky Blackjack uses the same standard rules as most blackjack games. All numbered cards keep their face value whilst picture cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10. Aces are worth either 1 or 11, depending on the other cards in the hand. The strongest hand in the game is ‘Blackjack’, which is formed by combining an Ace with a 10-value card. Blackjack defeats all other hands, except for another Blackjack, in which case, the stake is returned as a push.

Before a round of Lucky Lucky Blackjack starts, the player must set their stake using chips that are found on the left-hand side of their screen. Once the chips are set, a round starts when the player clicks on the ‘Deal’ button. At this point, the player receives two face-up cards from the dealer, who takes a face-up and face-down card themselves. If the dealer is revealing an Ace, the player can place an ‘Insurance bet’. The insurance bet costs half of the player’s stake and pays 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack. If the dealer does not have blackjack, the round continues as usual.

After receiving the two initial cards, the player can choose one of the following actions:

  • Hit – if the player chooses to hit, they will receive an additional card. There is no limit on how many cards the player can receive. However, they must be cautious not to go bust.
  • Stand – if the player chooses to stand, they do not receive any further cards. Instead, they keep their hand as it is and the next position plays.
  • Double – if the player chooses to double, they take a single additional card and double their stake. It is possible to double on any hand, including after a split.
  • Split – if the player has received two cards with the same value, they can split their hand into two separate hands. In doing so, the player doubles their stake. Players can receive as many cards as they like after splitting, except on Aces, in which case, they only receive one more card. Any 10-value card on a split Ace counts as 21, not Blackjack.

In Lucky Lucky Blackjack, the 10-card Charlie rule is in play. The 10-card Charlie rule pays out if the player draws 10 cards to a single hand without going bust. This automatically wins, regardless of the total. However, the 10-card Charlie rule does not beat a dealer Blackjack.

Any standard win in Lucky Lucky Blackjack pays 1:1. That applies for wins where the player’s hand is stronger than the dealers, when the dealer goes bust or when the player has ten cards without going bust. If the player has Blackjack, the payout is 3:2. When both player and dealer hands are equal, the round ends as a tie and the player’s stake is returned as a push. The dealer will always hit on a 16 or lower and stand on a 17 or higher.
