Full Time Result

The most straightforward bet is y on which team will win the match or whether the match will end in a draw. These are the match result bets, where odds will be offered on either team or on the match to end in a draw, reflecting how likely each of the possibilities is.

Handicaps

When there is a team that is far stronger than its opponent, there is a good chance they will not only win the match but also win by a margin. Handicap bets are useful here because punters can increase the odds on a bet on the favourite to win. If a handicap of -1.5 is placed on the stronger team, they will need to win the match by at least 2 goals for the bet to pay. This is more risky, but in return the odds will be significantly lengthened. Handicaps can also be found on the underdogs, only these will be positive handicaps. A handicap of +1.5 will mean that the underdog can lose the game, but only by 1 goal. If the team loses by 2 goals, the bet will lose. If the team wins or draws the match, the bet will pay out.

There is usually a range of handicap betting options on each match, with handicaps of +1.5, +2.5, and more for the positive handicaps, or -1.5, -2.5, and more for the negative handicaps. This allows punters to choose whether they want to make riskier bets with higher odds, or to make safer bets with lower odds.

Total Goals

These bets are not affected by which team wins the game or if it ends in a draw, they relate only to the number of goals scored by both teams by the end of the match. Total goal bets, like handicap bets, come with a range of options, such as 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 or more (total goals). For each option, there is a bet for the match to end with over that number of goals and a bet for the match to end with under that number of goals. If a punter placed a bet on over 2.5 goals, it will mean they need the match to end with a combined score of at least 3 goals. If the punter places a bet on the match to end with under 2.5 goals, it means that they need the match to end with a maximum of 2 goals scored between both teams.

Double Chance

This bet offers punters the chance to reduce the level of risk of betting on the game. There are three different outcomes in each game, either team A wins the match, team B wins the match, or the match ends in a draw. With double chance bets, the punter can bet on two of the three possible outcomes in one bet. These do come with slightly shorter odds, but they may offer punters the insurance needed to win a bet. The bets are team A to win or the match to end in a draw, team B to win or the match to end in a draw, and team A to win or team B to win.

Halves

These are similar to the match result bets, the difference is that they relate to only one of the halves. A bet can be placed on one of the teams to win a half, or for the half to finish in a draw. When betting on the second half, the results from that half will be independent from the results in the first half, meaning that if one team was leading at the end of the first half, but the second half ended in a draw, it will be counted as a draw and not a win for that team.

Special Bets

There are many special football bets that relate to game statistics, player performances or special events that may or may not happen in a match. There may be bets on whether individual players will score or provide an assist, or bets on how many corners, fouls or cards will one team have in a game.

There may be even more specific bets such as will there be a penalty in the game, will one team score a free kick and more. The special bets are usually match specific, so punters can expect more options for the higher profile games, such as finals or matches between top clubs.
