How to Bet on the Liga de Desenvolvimento de Basquete

The Liga de Desenvolvimento de Basquete, or LDB, is the Under-20 equivalent of the Novo Basquete Brasil, or NBB, which is the top tier basketball league in Brazil. In the regular season, the 22 teams are placed into two groups of 11. They then have to play against all the other teams in their group once, and the results from each game will give them points that will count towards their position in the group. After all the games have been played, the top 6 teams advance to the semi-finals. Instead of playing in an elimination round, the top 6 youth teams play in a group, where the teams play against the 5 other teams once, and the top 4 teams proceed to the Final Four. The Final Four has the same format, where all teams play each other once, and the team that tops the table at the end becomes the new LDB Champion.

In the LDB, you will find the youth teams of some of the best NBB basketball clubs such as Bauru Basquete, Brasília, Cearense, Corinthians, Flamengo, Pinheiros, Paulistano, Franca, São Paulo, and many more. Flamengo won the inaugural tournament, which was held in 2011. Bauru won the following year, but Flamengo won their second title in 2013. Basquete Cearanse became the first northern Brazilian youth team to win the competition when they won in 2014. In the following three years, Pinehiros, Franca and Paulistano won the competition. In 2018 and 2019, Pinheiros made history by winning back to back competitions. In 2020, the competition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but it was relaunched in 2021, and the number of teams in the competition was expanded from 16 to 22.

Points Total

This is a bet on how many points will be scored in a game. It uses the over/under format, meaning that you should pick one of the betting lines and then predict whether the game will finish with over or under that number of points. For example, in a game between Brasilia and Cearense, you could bet on there being above or below 150.5 points scored.

First Half/Full Time

This bet requires you to predict the outcome of the game at the end of the first half, and then at the end of the second half. There are multiple possible outcomes, which can make this bet quite tricky to place.
