How to Bet on Street Skateboarding Rome

The World Skateboarding Championship is an annual park skateboarding and street skateboarding competition for both men and women, organized by the World Skate. Both disciplines of skateboarding (park and street) are now contested in this one event. The event contributes to the Olympic Games qualification in which the sport was recently officially included.

The Street Skateboarding competition in Rome is held in Rome at the Parco del Colle Oppio e Delle Terme di Traiano next to the magnificent Colosseum.

The 5 top-ranked skaters and medalists from the previous 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games skip the Open Qualifier completion to the tournament and are pre-seeded into it. All National Federations are required to register 12 skaters, 6 for the men's completion and 6 for the women's competition.

During competition, skaters are expected to make two runs of 45 seconds each, followed by a phase of tricks for the scoring. Each score falls between 0 and 100 and a skateboarder's best run out of the two will count towards the total score. Their best two tricks are given a score of between 0 and 100, making a total final score of between 0 and 300.

The success that the sport has gained at the Olympic Games has exposed it to a larger new audience and more people are finding it exciting. It has also created more betting opportunities. Here you can learn about the most popular bets you can place on Street Skateboarding Rome.

To Win

In street skateboarding, this is the simplest bet. It is simply a prediction of who will win a skateboarding competition and it is place at the beginning of the competition.

Athletes are assigned odds of winning an event, and the successful bet payout depends on these odds. A panel of five judges will cast their eye over the run and each run or trick is given a one decimal point score between 0 and 10 based on speed, difficulty, originality, timing, and execution. The skateboarder with the most points wins that event.

For example, if a wager is placed on the 45-second run event for the Japanese skateboarder Yuto Horigome, his points from the runs will have to be higher than the rest of his competitors. If he gets 9.7 points and no other player beats that, the bet is won.

To Finish in the Top Three

In street skateboarding, a wager to finish in the top three is a prediction for a skateboarder to rank between 1 and 3 on the scoreboard of points. The top 3 ranks can be on either an individual event or the overall competition.

One can place a wager on France's Vincent Milou to finish top 3 in the men's opening line score over two-run attempts. A prediction can also be made on the possibility of him being in the top 3 for the highest trick score of the event.

To push it up a notch, a prediction of a skateboarder's chances to be in the top 3 can be made on the overall competition results. One can wager on USA's Braden Hoban to be in the final top 3 overall winners to get a medal. If he ends up being a medalist, the bet is successful.

Futures Bets

This is a market for the prediction of the skateboarders to win the gold medal or silver medals. This is regardless of the skateboarder's performance in each event but rather based on the total final score, which is the sum of total points gained and between 0 and 300.

A bet of this type can be a prediction that USA's Chris Joslin will win a silver medal in the overall championship, or a gold or a silver medal.

Prop Bets

A prop bet, is a bet on certain events to occur in a competition. It can also be a prediction of the skateboarder's performance and the possibility of them performing certain tricks, or how many tricks they will perform.

For example, you could bet on a skater falling during a run or a skateboarder failing to do a certain trick. For instance, you could bet on Canadian Ryan Decenzo to do a Nollie Backside 270, or Portugal's Gustavo Ribeiro to do a 360 Tre Flip.

Live Betting

Most bets can be placed before events begin, but skateboarding wagers can also be placed while the events are underway. This means that you can assess the skaters before placing your bets and you can then make use of the bets explained above.
