Betting on Los Angeles Rams 2022-23 NFL Games

Established 86 years ago, the Los Angeles Rams play their football at the SoFi Stadium, in Agoura Hills California. They have won the Super Bowl on two separate occasions and reached the playoffs 31 times.

How did the Los Angeles Rams Perform in the 2021 Season?

The Rams 2021 season could not have ended better as they won the Super Bowl for the second time in their history. They won the NFC West division with a record of 12 (wins) – 5 (losses) – 0 (tied) to qualify for the playoffs. A relatively easy 34 – 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the wildcard playoffs was followed by two close encounters against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco 49ers, with each game ending with a three-point winning margin. Another three-point margin was enough to secure the Super Bowl, beating the Cincinnati Bengals 23 – 20.

Los Angeles Rams Changes for 2022

The oldest offensive linesman to win a Super Bowl at 40 years of age, Andrew Whitman decided it was time to retire. Outside linebacker Von Miller signed a contract with the Buffalo Bills while Odell Beckham Jr’s one-year contract expired and he now recovers from an injury sustained in the Super Bowl having scored a touchdown.

Offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell leaves the Rams to join Detroit Lions as their new Head Coach. Quarterback Jared Goff followed him to Detroit as he was traded for Matthew Stafford.

Middle linebacker Bobby Wagner signed as a free agent as did wide receiver Allen Robinson. Joe Noteboom signs a new three-year contract as an offensive tackle.

Los Angeles Rams Key Players

The Rams will be hoping key players such as Cooper Kupp will provide the needed touchdowns and percentage kicking from Matt Gay can keep the scoreboard ticking. Defensively Ernest Jones will be expected to make tackles.

Betting on the Los Angeles Rams

There are heaps of betting opportunities available on the Los Angeles Rams 2022 season and some of these are explained below.

Moneyline

These types of bets are the most popular by volume and the reason is that they are so easy to make. All that is required of you is to pick the winner of a game. It could be that the Los Angeles are underdogs for a game and you are quietly confident they will win, you can place an outright bet for this outcome.

For example, last season in the postseason NFL divisional round against Tampa Bay Buccaneers the Rams were underdogs and had odds of 2.20 for an outright win. The Buccaneers were favourites and priced at 1.69. A moneyline bet on the Rams will have been successful as they won 30 – 27.

Spread (Handicap Betting)

This is a slightly more complex type of bet compared to the moneyline but is an easy concept to understand. The bet is based on the point spread of the final result.

Let’s return to the Rams beating the Buccaneers 30 – 27 for an example. The Rams were given a points spread of -2.5 while the Buccaneers were +2.5. This means that bets on the Rams will have won, as they won the game by more than 2.5 points. A bet on the Buccaneers would only have won had the team won or lost by no more than 2 points.

Total Points

This is an over/under bet where you predict if the total points scored in a game will be higher or lower than betting line. In the Super Bowl against Cincinnati Bengals, the total points betting line was 48.5. With the final score ending in a 23 – 20 win for the Rams, betting under will have won as the total score of 43 points was lower than 48.5.

Prop Wagers

There are always loads of prop bets available for Los Angeles Rams games. Here are just a few examples:

  • Over/under on the total rushing yards in a game by quarterback Matthew Stafford
  • Over/under the total number of touchdowns scored by both teams in a game
  • Odd/even total number of points scored by both teams
  • Over/under the total number of passing attempts by Matthew Stafford
  • Over/under the total number of successful field goals from both teams
